Sensor:
It is a device which detects or measures a physical property and records,
indicates, or otherwise responds to it.
It is also defined as a device that produces an output signal for the purpose of
sensing a physical phenomenon
It is also defined as a device, module, machine, or subsystem that detects
events or changes in its environment and sends the information to other
electronics.
Water level indicator:
A water level indicator is a system that relays information back to a control
panel to indicate whether there is a high or low water level in a body of water.
