Storytelling 7 - A Strange Day at The Park
Storytelling 7 - A Strange Day at The Park
Once upon a time, there was a boy called Robert, who loved playing outdoors with his friends.
He used to go to a park that was up a hill every afternoon after school with her mum. There,
he used to meet with his friends because they had a lot of fun playing together.
One afternoon, Robert was so happy because he was going to the park with his new ball
because the day before was his birthday. That day mum didn’t go and advised him that it
wasn’t a good day to take the new ball because it was very windy, but he was so excited and
he decided to go anyway. When Robert arrived there, he started playing with the ball with all
his friends. All of a sudden, the wind blew so hard that the ball disappeared. He was so sad
because he lost his new ball but he wanted to continue playing, so he decided to go home and
take some tennis rackets and balls. They started playing happily but… all of a sudden the wind
blew so hard and the balls disappeared, even the rackets, he couldn’t hold them. Robert was
so angry this time because he was losing all his material but he decided to give it a last
chance, and he went home and took more material. This time, he took some basketballs. He
thought that the wind wouldn’t be able to make them disappear. They started playing and… all
of a sudden… the balls disappeared. Robert couldn’t believe it… this time he was very upset.
Robert and his friends started talking about a solution. If Robert’s mum knew that he lost all
the material she would be very very angry. They decided to go down the hill and try to find all
the material. They walked for two hours and they were really tired… Finally, they arrived at a
park that they had never been to and they saw a group of children playing with all the
materials, and they told them that all that material was Robert’s. The children told them that all
the material was falling down the hill. Robert and his friends explained what happened and the
children gave the material back to them. They started playing altogether but a few minutes
At that moment, Robert was so happy because he had all his material back so he invited all
the children to his house to eat biscuits with some milk. From that day on, they never came
back to that park up the hill because they realized that it was very dangerous. Luckily, Robert’s
together.

Learning objectives
- To get familiar with the past tense.
- To refresh the knowledge of the sports and material you need to play them.
- To encourage pupils to be responsible and help others when it is needed.
Topics
The main topic of the story is to be responsible, to share material and to thank when
someone helps us. This story can help the pupils to see that we don’t know when we
will need help, for this reason we have to always help others and be kind. Also, if
they have got new toys, or in this case a new ball, they have to share it with their
friends. Learn that sharing is funnier.
Structure
The structure we have used in this story is the Repetition structure. Repetition
structure is when the protagonist is having problems repetitively, at least three times,
but in the end the protagonist can solve it. The structure is the following one:
INCIDENT + REPETITION + REPETITION + REPETITION WITH VARIATION.
