• The values that the decision variables can take are usually limited.
• Example:
• Physical dimension of a transformer must be positive.
• Active power output of the generator may be limited to a certain range.
• Reactive power output of the generator may be limited to a certain range.
Feasible Set
• The value the decision variable take is usually a limited one.
• Example : -
• Active power limit
• Reactive power limit
• Line flow limit etc.

Value of the objective function outside the feasible set do not matter
