Job Purpose
The Management Trainee will provide technical know-how to manage and operate IT hardware,
software, and application solutions within the Personal Data Protection Office.

Key Accountabilities
a) Install and configure software and computer systems and other peripheral hardware including
printers, projectors, scanners, etc.
b) Ensure security of IT Infrastructure maintenance/monitoring of anti-virus, patching, and,
network monitoring.
c) Train staff in basic IT skills. e.g. use of new software, and troubleshooting.
d) Support Administration in maintaining an up-to-date list of IT Equipment.
e) Test, evaluate, and make decisions about new technology for the business.
f) Carry out user requirements gathering and harmonization of the requirements into automation
solutions
g) Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs
h) Testing and evaluating new programs
i) Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these
modifications
j) Writing and implementing efficient code
k) Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
l) Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Position Requirements
Education
a) An Honours Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information
Security, Systems Development, or a related field from a recognized university is required.
b) Experience in IT Support and Systems Development is an added advantage.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of working experience in any field of Information
Technology or Systems Development is a requirement.

Technical Expertise
a) Understanding of trends and developments in the areas of Information Security and risk
management.
b) Basic knowledge of systems development principles and practices.
