This document proposes an accurate and efficient fiber-based shakedown analysis method for 3D frames discretized with mixed finite elements. The method defines the admissible stress domain at the fiber level based on the maximum and minimum effects of all loads. It uses a continuation method and decomposed iterative solution strategy to solve the lower bound optimization problem for mixed finite elements via direct application of Newton's method, without requiring a constrained optimization solver. Numerical tests demonstrate the method's accuracy, efficiency for large buildings, and ability to solve with a small number of fibers regardless of load domain complexity.
