Point Description
Broad Topic Area/Title Ethical challenges of researchers in qualitative studies: the necessity to develop a
specific guideline
Problem Statement The research addresses the challenges researchers face as they interact with
participants. One of the main challenges involved in the ethical dilemma is whether

Purpose Statement The study's main purpose was to discuss the need to develop guidelines for helping
researchers conduct qualitative research.

Research Questions Does the research seek to answer what research guideline a researcher conducting a
qualitative study should choose?

what will be tested. The research was qualitative research, and the expectation was to

Type of Data for the challenges of researchers can be categorized as categorical data.
Variables

Summarize Results of Study The study found that researchers face ethical difficulties when conducting qualitative
research. Some of the challenges include informed consent, anonymity, and
confidentiality.
Summary of Assumptions The article assumed that the data from secondary sources were credible. This

Ethical Considerations
Evaluate the article and identify potential ethical considerations that may have occurred when
sampling, collecting data, analyzing data, or publishing results. Summarize your findings below
in 250-500 words. Provide rationale and support for your evaluation.
The article has been written precisely in which all critical parts of the research have been

used. The report has provided well explainable information on researchers' ethical challenges as

they conduct qualitative studies. I think the article has discussed in-depth information on what

needs to be addressed by using information from various scholars. The authors of the article have

analyzed the information to draw a conclusion that can be used in academic research and

learning.

However, many potential ethical considerations may have occurred when sampling,

collecting data, analyzing data, or publishing results. One method is the assumption of data and

information collected. Since the study is qualitative, it is easy to falsify information since other

researchers can test the information collected (Denny & Weckesser 2018). This would be

unethical since the research is being relied on by other researchers and scholars in academia.

Another ethical consideration is the method of data analysis. According to the research,

the study used qualitative methods to analyze data and come up with coherent information that

can lead to a justifiable conclusion. Some of the methods used include Phenomenology and

grounded theory techniques. In the Phenomenology technique, researchers bring personal

experience to the collected data and try translating the experiences regarding the research topic.

This method may be biased since humans are prone to error. Grounded theory is also biased

since it is grounded on how the researcher interprets the data (Timonen et al., 2018). In

conclusion, I can say that the research lacks the mean of being tested, and it exposed the reader

to academic risks.
