    Contemporary Indigenous literatures in English it is not writing but printing that

    revolutionized literature that has gained universal appeal started to spread in the
    Western world after invention of the printing press. The ubiquitous nature of letters
    was made possible due to the development in the printing field. While the ancient
    civilizations in India, china and Egypt had their own system of writing and
    preserving their literary traditions, many African and Indigenous communities
    around the world preserved their lore in their oral traditions.
