Welcome to issue #18 of Mythic Magazine!
We’ve now hit a year and a half of publication,
with lots of Mythic and Crafter goodness
that’s been put out there. This issue marks the
conclusion of the third 6 month installment of
the magazine, which means a Mythic Magazine
Compilation #3 is just around the corner.
Thank you to the fans who enjoy and
support Mythic Magazine, and thank you to the

Table To Your RPG on adapting your RPG to your adventure. The
Adaptable Event Focus Table is meant to draw in
key elements of your chosen RPG so they appear
as Random Events in your adventure.
The second article is the introduction of a
new kind of Event Meaning Table, the Elements
Tables. These are specialized Event Meaning
Tables that focus on particular subjects,
such as Cavern Descriptors and Character
Motivations. They can be used in place of the
standard Meaning Tables to give you results
that are more relevant to the current context
making them easier to interpret.

WHAT IF

ADAPTING YOUR RPG

I’m going to break an RPG down into three parts
to help with deciding what to add to an Adaptable
Event Focus Table: Tone, GM Rules, and Cool Bits.
Tone is what your chosen RPG is about and the
kinds of events you would expect to happen in it.
We’re talking about monster fighting and treasure
discovery in a classic fantasy game, zombie encounters
and survival in a zombie apocalypse game, power use
and epic battles in a superhero game, and so on.
GM Rules are rules in an RPG that are just for the
GM to use behind the scenes. These are things like
the Villain Points in Tomb Breakers!
Finally, Cool Bits is anything else in the game
that you just hope turns up in your adventure.
Maybe this is a juicy encounter table you want to
use, specialized equipment you hope your character
gets, or anything else that made you want to play this
RPG in the first place.
