ZHUO DYNASTY

-During Zhuo dynasty where Taoism, Confucian literatures and other prominent religious philosophical
school arised during these period

Qin Dynasty

Mohism and establishment of early form of Buddhism, less is known about Qin dynasty because the
temples and literature were destroyed.

HAN DYNASTY

- Revival of Confucianism. Confucian text are rewrtitten and republished

-Contribution in historical text and scientific work

Tang Dynasty

-Great Chinese poets Dufu and Li bai and many more emerged.

a. “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”

For me he emphasized that there is no instant success, If you want to be successful enough for
you to do whatever you want with luxury or “to move a mountain” everyone must start from
nothing, go forward, make small steps, go fast, there might be retreats but keep going until you
reach your goals.

b. “When everyone hates a person, you should investigate thoroughly, and when everyone loves a person,
you should also investigate thoroughly.”

- The analect means that we should not easily be swayed by what others tell about the person. If
the person is being hated, We should not hate blindly but to see for ourselves why is it hated
and the reason behind it then you can confirm. It also applies when the person is being loved by
everyone.

c. “Don’t grieve when people fail to recognize your ability. Grieve for your lack of ability instead.”

- You do not need to force others to recognize you. Being not recognize is nothing to be sad
about. Instead youhave to be better than what they expect. The lack of ability is why
you are not that recognize because they think that that is all you got. Then be better than it and
prove yourself

d. “If you expect great things of yourself and demand little of others, you’ll keep resentment far away.”
 - For me what he trying to say is that depending and demand greatly on others will cause them
to resent you for being that. Because as an individual you need to stand by yourself and expect
great things on you
e. “The scholar who cherishes the love of comfort is not fit to be deemed a scholar.”

- A scholars are smart person therefore they should not stop learning new things. If they are
comfortable from what they know they are not scholars.
