Introduction :
(Yousif ) Introduce himself. Hello my name is yousif, Ill be demonstrating myself
as the manger of the radiographer staff .
In hospital and other healthcare setting, infection control referees to the
policies and practices used to magnate and reduce the spread of illness with
the primary goal of lowering infection rate .
Come with us to see some cases that our student training radiographer are
going to deal with. preventive measures should be implemented at the
radiology department, such as

In the first room, ( X-ray) :

Radiographer notes down the patients history , (enters x-ray room, stands next
to stand Bucky , and :radiographer (sneezes ) .
1- patients enters changing room & wear old patients clothing , patient sneezes
Yousif says :(wear mask (The use of the personal protective equipment
(PPE) is suitable for medical staff who have close contact with suspected or
confirmed patients.), sanitize the area (cleaning with air disinfection)(Airborne
precautions), don’t wearing other patient’s grawn )

Second CT-scan :
Nurse enters the CT-sacn room to inject the patient with contrast media , blood
drops in the CT-scan table . Radiographer forgets to clean . Another patients
uses the contaminated table
Yousif ; To clean visible contaminants / examination room, radiographer must
alert before /after each patient

Third Ultrasound ;
Radiographer didn’t change the patients bed sheet after use , use of surface
probe with contaminated gel ,
Yousif : disinfect with a wipe , (contaminated ultrasound gel enters a patient’s
bloodstream during an ultrasound-guided intervention, it presents a risk for
infection. )
, change examination bed sheet .

Continuous guidance and training on these infection prevention and control

measures, along with an adequate supply of the necessary resources are
recommended in order to ensure higher compliance with these preventive
measures, and therefore a lower rate of cross-infection .
