Row 1 (rs): Sl1, K5, k2tog tbl, k1 and turn.

Shape gusset
You will need Sl1 k5, now pick up 7 sts down the side of the heel and
one from the gusset, (which is the corner between the heel
Yarn: Highland Heathers DK and leg), K12 pick up 1 st from other gusset and 7 sts up
the other side of the heel. (34 sts)
One ball each of:
Arrange your needles so that you have 3 heel sts and 8
sts just picked up on Needle 1, 12 sts on needle 2 and 8
MC Cairn / Thrift sts just picked up and the remaining 3 sts from the heel on
needle 3.
CC1 Loch / Wild Salmon Stranding yarn across last 3 sts, now begin working in
rounds as follows:
CC2 Shale / Grist Next round: K to last 2 sts on needle 1, k2tog, k12 from
needle 2, ssk then k to the end of needle 3.
Next round: K all sts.
Needles: A set of four 4mm (UK8 - US6) These two rounds form the gusset shaping. Continue until
double-pointed needles you have 6 sts on needle 1, 12 sts on needle 2 and 6 sts
on needle 3.
Technique: Fair Isle Work 6 rounds knitting all the sts.

Special Notes: Charts are worked top down and in the round Shape the toe
Next round: *K3, k2tog, k2, ssk, k3, repeat from * once
more.
Next round: Knit all sts.
Abbreviations Repeat last two rounds once more, decreasing the
number of K sts before the shaping by one each time,
k knit then first round only once, finishing on needle 3. (12 sts.)
