What is your Life philosophy?

(Activity 1)
Life doesn't get better, you do. That is my philosophy in life. I live my life and try to become a
positive influence on those around me, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. You never
know one day you could have saved someone's life. Do not wait for someone to change your life.
Time keeps ticking as you wait for that one person that will change your life around. But many
have not realized that the person that can truly change things, is you. You have the willpower.
You have the strength. You are in control.

It is my hope that through my mere existence I will have contributed something of importance to
someone or to improve my community, country, and planet. It is quite difficult to imagine
whether my existence will have mattered at all in the grand scheme of things, but that won't stop
me from trying. In life it’s better to regret something you did than to regret something you didn't.
Meaning fear should not guide you through your life. Especially when it comes to romance since
at the end of the day. Rejection with closure will always be better than a what if scenario that is
always on repeat.

My biggest fear in life is that on my deathbed I'll regret the fact that I don't have anything I really
regret doing. It would have meant that I've gone through my whole life without stepping out of
my comfort zone. That I didn't do something that really crossed the line, so I won't know where
the line even is. What if I missed out on truly wonderful things in life because I did not want to
do something I will regret? My biggest fear is that I will miss out on life and not realize until it is
too late.

Life is what you make of it. My friend said to me once. Events that occur may be good or bad
depending on how you perceive them. And that everything happens for a reason. I hate this
statement but, at certain times it does make me feel better. Because looking back at how my life
has played out so far, I can now see how important all the events I faced were in shaping me into
who I am. Or in short, I took what the world gave me on a silver platter, and it turned me into
what I am.

Additionally, most people get too caught up in the materialistic aspect of life and whine their
way through every day of their mundane lives. We should all learn to appreciate the small things
life offers, like spending time with family and friends, playing your favorite game, and relishing
a nice meal. These are the small things people most often take for granted. People should stop
yearning for materialistic items that don't bring them true happiness in the end. Instead, they
should look around and appreciate how fortunate they really are. Rather than complaining how
annoying it is having to wait for delayed public transport, we all just might live a happier and
fulfilled lives.
We should all try to become satisfied with our current circumstances without being complacent.
Be okay with our present, but always move towards the future. Preferably move at a moderate
pace. Because the slower we move, the faster we die. Death is the greatest equalizer of all. It
does not matter who you are, or what you do, we all end up dead in the end. You can't control
anything in life apart from how you choose to perceive and react to what the universe throws at
you. Love will probably be the closest we can get to regarding the meaning of life. Since we
ourselves don't matter, but it does feel nice to matter to someone who matters to you.

I pray for the strength to keep moving forward, all the while knowing that
In the end. “My life amounts to no more than one drop in a limitless ocean. Yet what is any
ocean, but a multitude of drops?”. A line from Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.
