At the doctr’s
Complete the dialogues. Use the sentences below.

Patient: I have an appointment with doctor Green.


Receptionist: What’s your name ?
Patient: Steven Black.
Receptionist: Alright, Mr Black. Take a seat please. The doctor will call you in.

Doctor: What seems to be the matter ?


Patient: I fell pain in my lungs.
Doctor: Take off your shirt, please. I need to listen to your chest.
Patient: Of course.
Doctor: Take a deep breath. How long have you had this problem ?

Patient: I suffer insomnia. Could you prescribe me some slepping pills.


Doctor: Before I prescribe you anything, first I would like to find out what the cause of your
problem is.

Doctor: Have you been vomiting ?


Patient: I vomited once this morning.
Doctor: It might be food poisoning. What did you eat last night ?

Patient: I have a splitting headache and sore throat.


Doctor: Have you got a temperatur?
Patient: I didn’t take the temperature, but I fell faverish.
Doctor: Let me examine you.
After a while
Docter: Your throat is severely inflamed. Here’s your prescription.
You have to take the antibiotic every eight hours for seven days. Do you need a sick note ?
Patient: Yes, I do.
Doctor: Alright. You’ll geti t at the reception.

Patient: I find it hard to breathe.


Doctor: Do you have any other symptoms ?
Patient: Yes, I have a runny nose, and I sneeze whenever i go out.
Doctor: I see, let’s run some alleargy tests first.

Doctor: The nurse will take your pulse and blood pressure.
After a while
Doctor: Your blood pressure is a bit too hight. I’ll prescribe you some pills. I also recommend
that you have your blood sugar tested. Cut down on salt and monitor you blood pressure at home.

Doctor: To prevent cathing Covid -19, wear a mask and sanitise your hands. Keep a social
distance of at least 1 m from other people.
