1. What are the health care situations Globally, Nationally, and Locally in terms of
Cellular Aberration?
Globally
Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, among females, breast, lung, and colorectal
cancers are the three most frequently diagnosed cancers worldwide and in more economically developed
countries. The cancer burden is also expanding in countries of all income levels due to growth and aging
of the population.

Nationally:

Cancer is the second leading cause of death among Filipinos. Because of poor access to health
care, there are also many advances being made in cancer are still not unattainable to others, especially
for those who live below poverty line. Low health literacy and high costs of diagnosing and treating cancer
are major problems affecting how cancer is treated and prevented here in the Philippines. Most people in
low- and middle-income countries, including the Philippines, pay for health care out of their own pockets.
Thus, there is a high probability of facing a financial catastrophe if someone is diagnosed with cancer,
especially for our poor and unemployed people. The government improves access to cancer care this
includes cancer assistance fund for cancer patients to help pay for their treatment, and expand Philhealth
benefit packages in cancer, and train more oncology professionals, and support bigger cancer awareness
campaigns.

Locally

According to the 2018 Globocan Philippines report, breast cancer remains to be the top cancer
type in the Philippines comprising 17.6% of the total number of new cancer cases recorded in the
country. The report furthered that though breast cancer is most common among women, there are also
reported cases that it can also happen among men.

2. What recommendations will you give to improve the health care system Globally,
Nationally, and Locally in terms of Cellular Aberration?

The Department of health should intensify further their information dissemination in the
promotion, prevention, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care of breast cancer patients. It is
further recommended that health education and prevention programs of breast cancer should
be sustained and strengthen.
3. How will you care for and manage the chronic illness of an adult client with
Cellular Aberration?

Cancer treatment can be more challenging and complicated for older adults. This is because
older adults are more likely to have chronic health conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease. As a
nurse, it is important to have knowledge and to consider in terms of treatment for an adult client with
cellular aberration. Treatment options, and other medical conditions that might cause problems with
treatment or increase of risk of side effects. Collaborate with the other health care team about the type of
cancer, if it has spread, and how far. The main cancer treatments for people of ages are: surgery,
chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Surgery has risks especially for older patients because the body
does not always work as well as it did during surgery these may affect the heart, kidney, liver and lung
function. Unlike radiation and surgery, chemotherapy affects whole body. This increases the risk of side
effects on the older patient’s these includes fewer blood cells, stomach and digestive problems, nervous
system judgement damage. To help prevent problems, make a list of the medications this includes those
that are taken without prescription as well as vitamins, supplements and herbs. In addition to surgery or
chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy usually do well to older patient’s, the side effects depend on the type
and dose of radiation therapy and where the cancer is. Other types of cancer treatments are palliative
care or known as supportive care, this type of treatment relieves the patient’s symptoms and side effect
is an important part of cancer care. This is because older adults can have more side effects, especially
from chemotherapy. Lastly, Hospice Care is a treatment that helps the older client and his family cope
with death and dying,
