I think this story has a very profound moral message that is, love is not counted from the material. Each gift
is also not judged by its amount but its effort. This story is about a poor couple who want to give each other
gifts for Christmas Eve. The woman sells her hair to buy her partner's watch and the man sells the watch to
buy a hairband for her lover. I highly recommend this story to read as it is suitable for beginners. The
vocabulary used is not too unfamiliar so it is easy to understand and this story can inspire readers.

The Lottery

This story comes down to a description of a pretty violent tradition of one community. Despite a quite
optimistic and positive beginning, the reader will soon find out that something feels off about it. The
community uses the lottery to pick one person for a sacrifice. This story can inspire its readers not to carry
on the tradition of playing lottery because of the many ugliness caused. In terms of language, this story is
also good for beginners to read because it is very easy to understand, only a rather long story can make it
difficult for people who are lazy to read to complete it.
