The three words I chose for my reflection essay are Informative, inspiring, and exciting because

of how much I learned in this class. This class taught me a lot I didn’t know about certain

diseases such as the Mütter’s marvels assignment. I felt inspired to learn more and even had me

thinking about a career in medicine though I’m much more interested in environmental issues. I

enjoy learning new things and learning about the long history of breast cancer was definitely

exciting for me. This is why I chose these three words to describe this course when I think about

my experience.

I learned a lot about disease and their history in this class that I didn’t know before. I learned

more about the history of injustices that took place in the Nazi concentration camps under the

premise of medicine and the history of womens reproductive rights. Before Mütter’s marvels I

hadn’t even heard about Eliza Sower or the court case that took place due to her death. I also

learned about the psychosomatic effects of faith in the healing process before modern medicine

from the Delphine assignment. I plan to use this in my career in the Peace Corps should this

information be relevant.
