Have you ever have a homesickness? And what does it mean?.Since I was 18 years old, I
started my education at a university which is at a city that is so far from my
hometown.Therefore, I moved into that city to stay and study.For the first semester, I was
shocked about the curriculum and could not internalize the environment in a easily way, and
this interval was difficult for me as I just could come back home at the weekend, and I really
missed my countryside a lot.This experience show that homesickness is the feeling of
emotional distress when you are away from home and in a new and unfamiliar environment,
it typically appears on almost students who are studying abroad or at a faraway place in their
country.In its mild form, this is not a significant problem, but intense homesickness can be
painful, debilitating, and become a disorder.If you were a homesickness person, you should

The first solution can be used to solve is to acknowledge that it is normal.Being in a new
place and missing your home, family, friends, and pets, is completely normal. It means that
you have a healthy attachment to your loved ones. It will take a while to adjust to your new
surroundings. Furthermore,the more negative you think, the more pessimistic you become.
You should spend a period of time to refresh yourself to think of positive things instead of
having vague thoughts such as considering about part-time jobs that you like and want to do
or planning a needed schedule for next days.Additionally, being active can be a good way.
Your room can be a safe haven during your time at college, but you do not want to spend all
of your free time there. It prevents you from getting out, getting to know new people, and
finding new things that you like. We can join some fascinating activities, club or favorite job
for example taking part in sports and physical activities can help you take your mind off your
homesickness and boost your mood. Team sports can also help you make new social
connections and find social support.
And the finally solution is a crucial one that is do not go home every weekend. When you
miss your loved ones and it can feel really nice to see them as often as you can, especially if
they live close by. But going home every chance you get may keep you from establishing
your new life on campus that can make your homesickness even worse.Letting yourself
frequently come back home twice a week may increase the feeling of preferring to be stayed
such as have a fun trip with your friends at your hometown or having dinner with your family
as usual as you do, this probably expand your homesickness more when you have to leave.If
we use this way, there will be a prominent result. Therefore, we should reduce the frequency
of going home instead we can go home once a week or about every two week or you can
increase the number of the day as possible as you can.
In conclusion, although this issue causes some serious corollaries for instance physical
impact, low capacity and even depression, it can be solved by three measures above. You can
utilize these ways or others that is effective in order not to let some negative outcomes
happen
