International Volunteer Information

Travel and accommodation

If a volunteer is successful (receives a role offer) they will be responsible for organising and
paying for their own travel and accommodation. FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will not be
providing any support for volunteer travel or accommodation.

Selection process

Volunteer applications from residents of Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia will be given
priority. This is to ensure that the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Volunteer Programme reflects
the communities of the host countries and host cities and allows residents the opportunity to
be involved in a once in a lifetime event. If volunteer applications from residents of Aotearoa
New Zealand and Australia do not meet the demand international applications will be
considered.

Visa requirements

All FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Volunteers will need a valid visa that allows them to work in
the host country (either New Zealand or Australia). We recommend not applying for any visa
until you have received a role offer.

Volunteering for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 is not a guarantee
of a successful visa application. The government of the host country (either New Zealand or
Australia) is responsible for processing visa applications and all applicants must meet the
specific government requirements.

Role offers are expected to be made in March 2023. Upon accepting a role offer, volunteers
who identify as an international volunteer during the application process will be provided with
further information on the Visa application process for the relevant country.

Any international volunteers will be required to have a valid visa or a New Zealand or Australian
passport. No exceptions to this statement will be made.
