Samuel

A long time ago, in the mystical land of Nagatui, there lived a boy
named Samuel. Samuel was a poor boy, his mother died after he was
born and his father had to join the army, leaving him all alone in the
little shed that they had left, but he was happy. Because of his
condition, from time to time the king’s only daughter, Juliana, visited
him and would often bring him clothes, foods and toys. She was an
angel sent by only God himself in Samuel’s eyes. He always dreamt of
marrying her and starting a family togheter, living in the woods where
he would teach their kids how to climb trees or how to cut trees, or by
the coast, where they would enjoy the sun’s rays of goddess and the
cold priceless ocean.
But he knew that wasn’t going to happen, he was just a poor boy
with nothing to offer, he was just like any other boy from Nagatui.
Until, one day, one of the king’s clerks gathered all the civilians of
the land and made an announcement.
- “Dear civilians, as you may know my daughter, Juliana, is old
enough to rule the kingdom herself and as soon as the rumors
started to spread about my condition, it also led to the truth
being unfold. Indeed, my daughter is a widow and she can’t
rule these lands on her own. If you think you have what it takes
to be a king, show up in the Garden of the Royale Kingdom of
Nagati at midnight.”
This was the moment. Samuel had to show up, he had to win or
else he wouldn’t forgive himself. He went home and prepared mentally
and physically for what was about to go down.
Midnight came and thousands of little boys, like him, showed up.
They all waited patiently for the king or one of his clerks to announce
what they had to do. And they waited. They waited. They waited until
the sun begane to rise. Nothing happened. The majority of the boys
left, but Samuel didn’t give up. Days passed and still no answear. On
day 5, the gate’s to the entrance of the castle opened after one boy left,
leaving exactly 100 of them, including Samuel. The clerk announced
that this was the first task.
The second task was to show their power and strength. There was
a boulder in the middle of the room, weighing over 10.000 kilograms.
Each boy had to move the boulder at least 1 meter in order to qualify
and meet the king himself. They all took turns and none succeded, until
Samuel turns came. He leaned on the boulder and thought of a way to
move it. All of a sudden, the boulder started moving. It moved exactly 1
meter. He was so happy he started crying. A couple of boys tried to lean
on it as well, but it didn’t work. There were 2 other boys that qualified.
They were taken into the king’s room.
On the old throne with gold that started decaying, there sat the
king himself. Next to him was a throne made out of pearls and quartz,
were sat Juliana. She had a big smile on her face and was looking
directly at Samuel. He started blushing.
- Good job little soldiers! You’ve shown that you are worth ruling
this kingdom. But there’s one more task left, you ha-
The ground started to shake. From the underground, Jamal, the
monster who tortured the land of Nagatui, erupted. The king was in
shock. The boys, Juliana and the clerk were in shock too, only Samuel
was calm. He knew what he had to do. He took the clerk’s sword from
his sheath and charged at the nightmarish monster. He went right thru
him and slayed the beast.
The king was still in shock, but as soon as he saw Samuel in front
of him, he declared that he will be next king and his daughter will
become the queen. After this, the king wanted to celebrate and threw
the biggest party in the lands and Samuel and Juliana lived happily ever
after.
