Picasso (Pablo Ruiz y Picasso) is one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. He was born on 25th
October 1881 in Malaga, Spain. He showed a great love and skill for drawing from an early age, and at
the age of seven, Picasso received formal artistic training from his father. At 13, he was admitted to a
school of Fine Arts in Barcelona. In 1896, he completed 'Portrait of Aunt Pepa', which is considered one
of the greatest works of Spain. During his life, he produced an enormous number of works of art: about
50,000 in total, including 1,885 paintings. Several paintings by Picasso rank among the most expensive
paintings in the world. Picasso died on 8 April, 1973 in Mougins, France.
