SAQ 2: Media Acceleration and Information

1. Discuss how the new media has affected our culture here in the province when it
comes to literacy and information consumption. Cite examples if you must (10
pts.)

Mass communication influences both society and culture. Different forms of

communication, including messages in the mass media, give shape and structure to
society. Additionally, mass media outlets can spread cultural knowledge and artistic
works around the globe.

3: Internet Addiction and Isolation
2. Create a two-paragraph essay on how the COVID-19 pandemic intensified the
population’s social isolation and interdependence towards the internet. Create
your own title and cite examples if you must. (Use a separate piece of bond if
needed) (10 pts.)

Title: Crisis of Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the social isolation and interdependence of the
internet population because we collaborate using the internet. We are currently fighting
for the good of the country, so many help and love our world or even the populations.
Some have lost their jobs, lost their homes and lost loved ones but we have remained
standing to survive and face the test of life.

For me, during this time of pandemic internet gives us a way to escape the exhausting
world by giving us the chance to find the enjoyment we are looking for by using social
media, playing online games, watching our favorite dramas, movies, or series, writing
and reading stories and articles.
