laminate and processing / climatic conditions. A small trial before a bulk production run is recommended.

Uses
Brilliant S630 / S300 is suitable for manufacturing flexible packaging materials for a wide range of applications
from standard performance end uses like snack foods and also for medium performance applications like
shampoos, soaps, bulk packs and other such applications.

Pot Life
Brilliant S630 / S300 has a long pot life and its viscosity profile permits very high machine speeds and also
makes the product operator friendly with easy cleanup after operations. Mixed adhesive viscosity at 40
degrees Celsius increases with time as follows:

Time (in minutes) Viscosity (in cPs at 40 Degrees C)
0 1,000
15 1,250
30 2,000
45 2,750

Note: The mixed adhesive may be slightly cloudy right after mixing, this is part of the design of the product and has no
impact on optical clarity of laminates or performance of the product

Recommended Operating Conditions
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

1. S630 / S300 is applied on a solventfree laminating machine using a multi roller application system.
2. The adhesive should be pre-heated to 40 degrees Celsius prior to use.
3. The adhesive and hardener must be mixed in accordance with the instructions above. Dosing is done using a
mixing and dosing unit, and fresh adhesive must be constantly supplied to the dosing station of the machine
4. The adhesive deposit applied may range from 1.5 to 3.5 g/m². Laminates requiring higher heat and chemical
resistance will require higher adhesive deposit weights.
5. For printed films the application weight has to be adjusted accordingly. Films should be printed with inks
suitable for lamination.
6. All polyolefin films must be treated to a minimum level of 38 to 40 dynes / cm prior to lamination
7. For films with high contents of slip additives and for white opaque films, compliance with the end customer’s
performance requirements must be checked
8. Tension controls must also be precise and care must be taken to ensure that the tension of the substrates are
adjusted so that the stretch of the substrates is equal, thereby ensuring no curling or tunneling of the laminate.
9. Conditions at the laminating nip are extremely important to ensure healthy lamination. Adequate temperature
and pressure considering the laminate structure must be maintained.
10. Within 24 hours the bond strength will be sufficient for further processing, such as slitting and rewinding.
11. Optimal heat and chemical resistance will develop within 5 - 10 days at ambient conditions.
12. Recommended cleaning solvents are Ethyl Acetate or other suitable organic solvents like MEK.
13. A special cleaning solvent, Brilliant C912, is available which can be used to clean machinery and is specially
designed to dissolve tough to remove cured adhesive. Please contact our Sales Team for more information

Disclaimer & Other Information

Laminating conditions like temperatures and pressure, application method and adhesive deposit, films and
substrates used, and film additives like slip additive, packed goods, printing inks, pre-treatment and coating of
films are of significant importance to the performance properties of the laminated packaging materials.
Therefore, laminating tests as well as proper checks on the laminates are necessary before going into full-scale
production.
