Scammers of largo high but make it teachers

You open the fridge and notice an ice cream gallon. Excitedly, you go and get a spoon and a cup to ease
the heat. You open the ice cream gallon only to see the raw fish that your mom will fry for dinner.
You’ve been scammed but you don’t think too much of it.

Scammers are everywhere, on your phone, in your house, and even here in Lagro. You’ve been
scammed plenty of times, yes plenty and surely you never suspected a thing. From your teacher saying
that your upcoming quarterly test will be easy to them telling you a simple yes.

Teachers here in Lagro are inspiring and play a big role on the advancement of us students. But they are
also big time professional scammers. One time I once asked a teacher if we didn’t have to answer a
specific activity, they said yes. The following day, my heart dropped when the teacher said that we
would check that specific activity today.

Thankfully, we reminded her that she told us we didn’t have to answer it, so all was well. Let this be a
reminder to be vigilant because scammers are everywhere, you might not just notice them. “I can feel
that you’re tired just by looking at you, you should enjoy life and sleep at least 8 hours a day”, one of my
teachers exclaimed.

That teacher also proceeds to give us five activities with video performances to be done within a week.
What a scam. Although teachers scam us, they give us something more in return like raw fish. Fish is a
lot healthier than ice cream. You might have been expecting something completely different but that
something that you received would have been far greater than what you expected it to be.

Despite clamor from public school teachers to act against “excessive” paperwork and systems, the
Department of Education (DepEd) maintained all its requirements were legal and necessary for the
improvement of basic education.

(As teachers, our first duty is to teach – not gather documents, accomplish forms, photograph every
move, please observers in demos, complete excessive lesson plans, and report to school on Saturdays.)
Deped Explained the importance of this paperwork, such as RPMs and class observations, and DLL. The
RPMs manage, monitor, and measure performance to identify efforts for the improvement of a teacher.
While Class observations are crucial for improving the quality of the teacher. Then the DLL is a template
for a week’s worth of lessons that teachers need to fill out. It is mandatory for teachers with at least one
year of teaching experience in public schools.

The DepEd said teachers were not exempted from 8-hour workdays for government employees. They
also said under civil service rules, teachers should have 6 hours of teaching and 2 hours for “teaching-
related tasks.” But if they choose to complete the 2 hours of “teaching-related tasks” outside school
premises no proof of service is needed for this, and they shouldn't receive salary deductions for it.

Teachers are also protected by RA 4670, pero hindi sure if nafafallow ito sa school natin.

Teacher’s in schools are required to comply with “excessive” paperwork and systems given by the
Department of Education. Lagro teachers are given paper works, gather documents, and accomplish
forms, complete lesson plans, and report to school on Saturdays. The government employee’s 8-hour
workday isn’t sufficient to accomplish all these tasks at once forcing them to do teaching-related tasks
outside school premises. Despite the complaints from teachers alike, DepEd continues to argue that all
of this is necessary for the improvement of basic education.
