Host calls Mahad Saleem to tell the audience about the 7 habits of highly effective people.
Mahad does not come up on the stage. Ahmed after 5 seconds repeats Mahad aa jao,
Mahad comes running with a bag on his back. Pushing Ahmad aside, he starts his speech
Punctuality, why is it so necessary in today’s world?
Ahmad: 7 habits
Mahad: punctuality is (voice fading)
looks at Ahmed and says kya
Ahmad: 7 habits ki speech karni hai, ghalat parh rahe ho
Mahad: 7 Habits (looks at the page) oh (shocked) right right
Coughs
The world is full of potential of all sorts. It is commonly said that anyone can be a leader,
however not everyone is suitable to be a good leader at least before you’ve learned the
seven habits of highly effective people… (laugh track) . Well to be completely honest if you
try to put to work the seven habits in your life, that will serve you quite extraordinarily. Let me
explain to you what i mean by this.
So imagine that you, yes you, yeah right there, yeah you. You are lazying about and not
doing your homework and watching whatever it is that you people watch and the next day
because you didn’t take initiative, you’ll end up standing in class, then failing, then having
low expectations of yourself, low self esteem and finally getting kicked out of your home. So,
moral is be proactive because society has too many lazy people already. Now if you had
thought ahead and used your brain then you would’ve realized that you have to go through
the education system and for that you need to put in the effort. So keeping the end goal of
going through the education system in mind, getting a job and finally lazying about watching
Netflix while still having a home. So begin with the end in mind and put first thing first like
Schoolwork before Netflix. So set priorities or be homeless because we all know that the
majority of you are not Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg, so dropping out of school won’t work
for you although you are welcome to try.
Understanding before seeking to be understood is to develop compassion to be able to help
and understand others. Thinking win-win is to plan in such a way that all parties… win win.
Because otherwise whenever you are watching Netflix some day in the far future, you will be
filled with guilt and not get to enjoy your movies or series and then you’ll think why did I go
through all this trouble? Is life meaningless?…….So yeah, think win win so you can at least
sleep well at night knowing that you are a productive member of society. Synergising means
to co-ordinate with others and uphold teamwork. This way you can put in less effort and get
better results. Oh and also don’t synergise in exams, you might get caught. Lastly, sharpen
the saw, so prepare because while you’re watching a movie continuously getting up to get
water and other necessities to survive, it ruins the mood.
So the seven habits can lead you to the life of your dreams if you just follow them.
Ahmad: (in a sarcastic tone) a very enlightening speech as usual from Mahad Saleem.
Musab hamari zindagiyon main bohot changes Laya hai. these have shaped us into who we
are. so the assembly today is our love letter to Musab, to its administration and to its
teachers
Calls Mamoon
Mamoon: Approximately 9 years ago, I remember setting foot on this campus for the first
time. I remember being shy and anxious. I remember being scared of the big world in front of
me. But now, these might be my lasts steps on campus. Thus, I would like to think that I
have improved during my time here.
Over the years, musab has helped me grow in a lot of different ways. Firstly, musab isn't just
a school, it's a community. And in my opinion, it is one of the better ones out there. The
people here are kind yet analytical. The environment helps you in more than just studies, it
lays the foundation for your future.
Secondly, and most importantly, musab promotes self improvement. As we all know, no one
is perfect, but musab helps you strive hard for the best version of yourself. Musab wants
what's best for us. The school also makes us want to be our best, to achieve excellence. In
the words of Plato, 'Excellence is not a gift, but a skill that takes practice. We do not act
rightly because we are excellent. In fact, we achieve excellence by acting rightly.' Finally, I
would like to say, it is the path to excellence which makes us invincible, not the destination.
Mahin: Musab school has been a part of my life since grade 7. In this time I have had
several exhilarating experiences in this school as Musab has been for me not just a school
but a guide for the development of my personality, for cultivating creativity in me and for
giving me a sense of belonging. To give you some context, I was the kind of person who
would be afraid of even raising my hand in class. The Mahin of then could not have known
how instrumental Musab would be in giving him the courage to stand out and to represent
himself and his beliefs, and for that, the Mahin of today thanks this school. It was a
memorable time which I will never forget.
The Mahin who had entered Musab was a person who would hesitate to even interact with
strangers as he feared that he might make a fool of himself and now Musab has made me a
confident person who can today stand in front of you all.
I will fondly remember the memories of this school. They feel like a dream, almost unreal
and yet so beautiful. Our juniors right now are blessed to be here and my advice to them
would be not to waste this opportunity. I give you this advice with the hope that you can
benefit as much as I did from Musab and it has, in all meanings of the word, been a
transforming experience. I pray that Allah bless the lives of the esteemed Principal and
teachers that have invested so much of their time and love in us. Thank you.
I’ve come before you today with a lot of emotions. Even after having a whole lot experience
of debating, my desperate plea to make this speech a remarkable one made me write it
down on a piece of paper.
Unfortunately but most probably, this would be the last time I would be addressing you all in
this fashion, in this very front-yard from where my journey began. I still remember how at the
age of 5, I first time held up a mike, in the same place I am standing before you today. I was
very excited since it was the first time, but who knew there would be a last time as well.
On behalf of all my classmates, I would like to thank all the people who make this institution
excellent: To the Principal, for the wisdom you bring and the vision you lay out, we thank
you;
To the Administration, for the godly oversight you bring to the school and for making tough
calls when needed, we thank you;
To the Teachers, who give your all each and every day to provide us with a tremendous
education and pushing us to do our best even on the days when we don’t want to learn, all
the while taking the extra time to build relationships with us, that for some will last a lifetime,
we thank you;
To the staff, who work tirelessly, coordinating the events while supporting us, we thank you;
Please have a round of applause for all these people who have sacrificed their present for
our future.
The character that I’ve developed was all possible because of my friends and teachers who
supported and helped me everytime. There are plenty of teachers in this campus who
helped me in excelling In my academics and were always there when I needed a suggestion
about something.
For many years, many people in this campus have been a part of my journey and have
played an important role in shaping me and making me into the person I am today. They
helped me to build a character who is always optimistic, and for that I’m grateful to all of you.
I’ve always tried my best to carry on the legacy of those who left me this seniority. And I’m
sure the legacy will continue, until the day when everyone would recognise this school as the
best.
Ladies and gentlemen, I have been doing speeches since a decade, but I must concede that
this is a special one.
In a few months, some of my best friends, people with whom I’ve spend the best times of my
school life with, are about to leave, taking with them memories which we together cherish,
for the rest of our lives. I wish I could go through all those moments we’ve spent together in
this building of Musab School, but perhaps I understand niw is the time to make the big leap
up the ladder of success.
Today, my dear friends, I’m compelled to say this and I promise I mean every bit of it. Guys,
imprint this statement on your heart for the rest of your lives: ‘we are invincible.’
