CHECKLIST

FOR APPLICATION TO MASTER’S PROGRAMME IN HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY AND PRACTICE

Please read the application information thoroughly on the University Admissions’ website to find the
specific instructions for the country where you completed your education. All required documents must
be uploaded on the University Admissions website - files may not be larger than 10 MB and you can
upload 20 MB per occasion. You can upload maximum 15 files per occasion and maximum 30 files per
day.

□ Degree certificates / Diplomas (BA,MA, etc.) including certified translations*

*certified means that translation must have official stamps from the university or from a notary
who states that the document is an exact translation of the original. If your degree certificate
and transcript of records are not in English, you should provide a certified translation in English
as well as the original, all in one pdf document.

• Please make sure that your degree is an official documents issued by your university
and also includes information about the length of your studies.

• If you have finished your Bachelor’s programme, but your degree will be issued after
the deadline, you can provide a certificate issued by your university which states that
you have the right to a degree which will be issued at a later date. This certificate has
to be signed by and have a stamp from the university, along with the date of issue.

□ Official Transcript of Records (list of grades and courses) including certified translations

• Please make sure that your transcript of records includes information about the length
of your studies.

English test results

□ Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish
Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for
example TOEFL, IELTS. Necessary documentation depends on the country where you
studied, please see the University Admission’s guide.

Important! Students who need to apply for a student visa to attend the semester in
Roehampton need to meet the requirements established by UK Visas and Immigration. Read
more about the entry requirements on the University of Roehampton website.

□-
Two recommendation letters

The recommendation letters can be academics letters or letters provided by a relevant non-
academic organisation or company (former employer).

The letter should be:

• Written in English
• Be printed on the official letterhead of the institution(s) they come from and signed by
the referee;
• Contain the referee’s affiliation, their contact details and explicitly mention the
relation to the applicant;
• Be dated and cannot have been written longer that 1 year prior to the date on which
you submit your application.

□ Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should be written in English and entail both your academic and professional
experiences, including any extracurricular work you might have done (membership of
association, volunteering, extra courses).

□ Motivation letter

You are asked to write a motivation letter in English, no longer than 5000 characters
(including spaces). The letter should be well structured and written in clear and concise
language. The assigned form is available on the application page.

If you are applying for Erasmus Mundus Scholarship:

□ Fill in the Scholarship Application form

Fill in the Scholarship Application form. NB: the scholarship application form must be
submitted together with your programme application on universityadmissions.se. If you do
not upload the scholarship application form, we will process your application as a self-funding
candidate. Ensure that you also check the option where you indicate if you would like to be
considered as a self-funded candidate and source funding elsewhere if you do not receive the
scholarship.

□ Scan of valid passport

Scan the page of your passport or identity card that contain your photo, name, date of birth,
nationality, etc.

□ Proof of residence

This document shows where you have been living at the time of application. To be verified on
the basis of the provision of the residence-related documents listed in the PRADO website. For
example:

• A residence certificate issued in accordance with the candidate's municipality’s normal


registration rules and issued within 12 months before the submission deadline of
applying for an EMJMD student scholarship, i.e. the consortium's official deadline for
student application; a municipality certificate must be submitted in English or Spanish.

• a certificate from the candidate's place of work, study or training issued by the
employer or institution in question issued within 12 months before the submission
deadline of applying for an EMJMD student scholarship, i.e. the consortium's official
deadline for student application; work/training/study certificates must be submitted in
English, otherwise a certified English translation must be provided with the original.

• A document confirming the applicant’s place of residence (in English) issued by a


notary is also acceptable.
