ELECTIVE ON PARTICIPATARY PLANNING ( SEM-8 2009-2010)

Assignment-1

The submission should be done in report format (max-5 pages) and should include following

1. Introduction – a brief description of regional planning process in Goa and events that led to
formulation of new RP2021
2. Write in brief what are the new processes followed in the new regional plan including
formulation of committees and process as envisaged by the TCPO office
3. Write in brief concepts of participatory planning as you know them and how it is being used
in other parts of India

(Section 1- 3 should be maximum 2 pages)

4. Case studies
a. Description of village panchayat /municipal council selected in terms of area,
population, density, other general information
b. Formulation of village committee, basis for selection of member and names of the
members selected (with profession if possible)
c. Number of meeting held and minutes of the meeting towards finalisation of
settlement plan
d. Analysis of public participation for the selected case study in your own words based
on the information gathered
5. Conclusion
6. Add existing village map, proposed settlement plan, google images and any other maps
collected.
7. Add annexure of minutes of village committee meetings and videos of interviews taken
8. Submission should be give in hard as well as in soft copy
9. Last date of submission is 19th of November 2009
