GROUP PROJECT (20%)

This project is designed to provide students with practical experience in applying project
management fundamental and concepts including scheduling concepts using MS Project.

Project Information

Project duration : 5 weeks

Group members : 5 students/group
Assessment :

a) Prepare a report in .pdf file that consist of info below (Cognitive 5%)
i. Project Information (introduction, scope of project, project title, project start
and end date, working calendar, cost, location, etc.).
ii. Details of Project Proposal (including but not limited to Work Breakdown
Structure (WBS) in a tabular view, working time information, table on duration
estimation, Gantt Chart, and comparison of physical and financial S-Curve).
iii. Drawing/Bill of quantities (BQ) for proposed project.

b) Perform project work using MS Project (Psychomotor 7.5%)

Other than report writing, you also need to submit your work project in .mpp file format.

c) Organise Interview (Affective 7.5%)

Interview will be conducted during presentation to assess your understanding of MS
Project software application, as well as your commitment to the task assigned.
Project Guideline

The project selected is only for double-storey building construction works and shall meet below
requirements:
i. Minimum list of activities required to complete the project is 80 activities and
up to maximum 100 activities with at least four (4) level of WBS.
ii. The maximum cost of project is RM 800,000.
iii. The minimum project duration is eight (8) months.

To submit a comprehensive project proposal, any logic assumption is needed and it should be
clearly written in your project report.
