The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) presents the Argentine Foreign Trade
Statistics publication with the aim of disseminating information on merchandise exports and
imports classified by country.
This publication has been prepared to concisely describe Argentine foreign trade and provide up to
date information to the global community.
This publication is available on a quarterly basis: in February, May, August, and November. This edition
includes data for the first nine months of 2021* and 2022*.

Overview
For the first nine months of 2022, Argentina’s merchandise exports increased by 15.2% and reached 67,131 million dollars, while its
merchandise imports increased substantially by 40.4% and reached 64,520 million dollars. The merchandise trade balance recorded a
moderate surplus of 2,611 millions of dollars.

For the first nine months of 2022, the top three HS sections for

The three largest export commodities were Oilcake and other solid
residues, whether or not ground or in the form of pellets, resulting

from the extraction of soya-bean oil (HS code 230400), Maize (excluding 8%

degummed (150710) (See Table 6).
In addition, the top three destinations for merchandise exports were Products of
vegetable origin
Brazil, China and the United States, accounting respectively for 14%, 26%
