Classic Schools of Thought in Context: South Korea and Argentina

(CASE ANALYSIS)

As I read the case, it emphasizes how South Korea perform its blast to the economy wherein

their percentage is higher than any developing country. The case is showing how strong the

development of South Korea from their stages of growth wherein it can fulfill the Rostow’s stages

of economic growth and structural pattern where they value agriculture; the shift to labor from

industrialization; steady growth of the capital stock (education and skills); and the low fertility

rate. Dependence revolution as well where they country has been colonized by Japan during wars

up to 1945, and their goods on how they manage it to gain interest. It is good to know that they

able to breakout dependence, and the challenge of Neoliberal where they survive crisis. if only all

countries were like this, they would certainly not experience too much crisis. However, if we talk

about crisis, the country of Argentina would relate, I am not saying they are poor but somehow as

the years goes by, they were lacking of tactics on how to maintain their economy because 40 years

ago, they are abundant and it seems like all the efforts will be ignored. On their growth in economy

there is a vast fall down where they cannot enter the top 60, in comparison during 1870 where they

reached rank 11. Argentina showed evidence even in their structural pattern, dependence

revolution, and the neoliberal that they fell off and they became victim. I learned that a country

will ascent if there is a proper way of managing the economy and how government participates in

times of crisis to survive. I learned also that if there is a lack of coordination, especially to the

government, hence, there will be bad equilibrium and devastated fall.
