Objectives: identify at least 4 boolean algebra, master combinatorial and sequential logics,
list at least 3 applications of logiccircuits.
Contents: Logic gates, Basics of two Logic statements, Simplification of Boolean functions
(Boolean algebra, Karnaugh map, and Quine and McCluskey method). Applications of
combinational logic (addition in base two, full adder, haft adder, coders, decoders,
transcoders, multiplexer, demultiplexer). Representation of implementation of logic
functions, Chronograms. Logic function transformations in terms of NAND or NOR.
Introduction to sequential logic: 3 states Logic. Logic TTL and CMOS logic gates and
combinational practical applications. Arithmetic logic unit. sequential Logic circuits: flip-
flops, counters, registers and parallel series. The use of ISIS Proteus for simulations is
compulsory.
