Wiring Specialties LLC| 458 Danbury Rd, Unit A9 | New Milford | CT | 06776 | sales@wiringspecialties.com
Preliminaries
• Your battery MUST be disconnected from the vehicles electronic system
to ensure safety to both you and your new wiring harness. DO NOT
CONNECT UNTIL COMPLETE!
• Confirm contents of Wiring Specialties product based upon the list of
included contents
• Connect all sub-harnesses including the chassis interface harness to the main
engine harness provided. (the universal fuse block may need to be installed
after the ecu has been pulled through the firewall)
• Please take the time to thoroughly read the instructions while installing your
engine harness

*Actual interface will vary per chassis

What’s inside
Interface harness
Coil sub-harness

Main harness
Step 1: Feeding the harness in

Feed the engine harness through

the firewall with the ECU and the
interior interface plugs leading the
way. Once through the firewall,
align the engine harness across the
back of the cylinder head.

This harness is designed to be

routed either through or below the
intake manifold depending on the
customer’s manifold used.

Step 2: Coil Pack Sub-Harness

Connect the 8-pin coil sub-harness

to the main engine harness. Install
the coil pack connectors starting
from the front of the engine, (cyl 1)
moving back to the rear (cyl 6).

Step 3: Intake Manifold Removal

We recommend the removal of the

intake manifold for the installation
of the injector connectors, and
other EFI sensors.

At this point, run the intake side

connectors through the runners as
seen in the photo.

NOTE –connector wire lengths

have been extended to
accommodate aftermarket intake
manifold conversions.

Step 4: Intake Manifold Sensors
Map Sensor

After the injectors and cam sensors

are installed, reinstall the intake
manifold.

The Map sensor connector, and idle

air control valve connector can now
be install.

IACV
Step 5: IAT & TPS Sensors

IAT Sensor

Connect the TPS on the front of the

intake manifold (Not to be
confused with traction control).

The IAT is designed to work in the

stock location, as well as extended
out onto an aftermarket sensor on
the intercooler piping.

TPS Sensor

Step 6: Knock sensors & Oil Pressure

• Knock sensors- Connect the

two (1) pin grey connectors to
the knock sensors, keeping the
wires as close to the engine as
possible to avoid clutter

• Oil Pressure-connect the 1-Pin

White connector to the sensor Knock sensors
on the block below the knock
sensors.

*If the oil pressure sensor on your Oil Pressure

harness appears different, please
check your order, and contact us.

Step 7: Alternator
On the front end of the harness you
will find a few connectors: The
Crank Sensor connector (Grey 2-
pin), the coolant temperature (2-
pin Green) and a black (1-pin
spade) Route the wiring harness
along the side of the engine,
wrapping to the front and connect
it to the respective sensors.

The alternator connector will drop

directly below the coolant housing.

* NOTE: If the alternator connector

does not match, please check your
order, and contact us.

Step 8: Coolant Temp Sensors

You will notice 2 connectors for the

Coolant Temp Sensors. The Single
Pin is for the gauge cluster
operation, and the 2-pin is for the
ecu signal.

*If the single pin on your harness

appears different, please check
your order, and contact us.

To tuck – route the wires up

through the coolant neck instead of
laying wires over it to get a clean
look .

Step 9: Oxygen Sensor & Crank Sensor

Route the crank and oxygen sensor

connectors above the alternator,
making sure that all looming is
tucked away from the turbo
system.

*If the oxygen sensor connector on

your harness appears different,
please check your order, and
contact us.

Step 10: Transmission
With our new 2JZGTE-PRO series harness,
both the upper (main engine harness) and
lower (transmission harness) are
Reverse Sensor
combined as one to give clean up the
engine bay and simplify the harness.
Connected to the lower harness you will
find four connectors.
*see photos for reference

Reverse Sensor – White two pin to Speed Sensor

transmission
Speed Sensor – Grey 3 pin to
transmission
Step 11: Alternator charge and power
Starter + from
alternator

You will need to supply a charge

cable directly from the alternator to
the starter.

We recommend using a minimum

of 8 Gauge wire for the charge
cable used to connect the
alternator to the starter/ electrical
system.
To Starter +
Step 12: Battery Constant Power

You will need to supply power

directly from the battery to power
the starter, and electronic system
for the harness.
We recommend using a 2 Gauge
wire for the main power supply Harness Power
directly to the starter.

The ring terminal next to the start

signal connector has to be installed
on the positive terminal , similar to
the alternator charge cable. This
will provide the +12v constant
power to the engine harness.

Start Signal

Step 13: Ignitor Chip & VSVs (Twin Turbo)
MUST BE GROUNDED

The ignitor has be relocated back into the

passenger compartment near the ecu
section of the harness.

*Make sure that the ignitor bracket is

grounded

The Grey 2-pin connector is the ignition

filter that is used by Toyota. Please reuse
one from your existing setup.
Step 14: Speed calibration and Diagnostics
SGI-5
The open wires are for the SGI-5
Speedo Conversion unit and should
be wired as the following:

Black w/ Orange- Power

Brown- Ground
Blue- Input
White- Output 3
Diagnostics

The diagnostic port is used to

check for error codes stored in the
pcm. The activate the CEL flash
sequence, jump the pins inside of
the connector. This will force the
ecu into diagnostic mode. For the
CEL code readouts, refer to the 2JZ
service manual.
At this point, we can move back into the car and connect the dash
interface harness and ECU connector. Ensure that the connector bolt is
lightly tightened to avoid stripping of threads or causing damage to the
ECU. For any more instruction on the interface harness, simply click on
