Dinosaur Horns and Frill

For
Hound Hoodie

These cute little dino horns and boney frill add onto the
Hound Hoodie pattern that I wrote for all sizes of dogs from XS to
XL! The frill is made by creating multiple segments that are then
connected by a row of single crochet stitches so that it can be
made in different sizes. They are easy to make and could be
added on to human hoodies also!

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Materials
 Yarn with a weight of #4
o A- White
o B- Grey (or any color)
 Size I/9-5.5mm Crochet Hook
 Stuffing
 Tapestry Needle
 Scissors
 Safety pins

Finished Dimensions
Horns – Length: 1.75” (4.45cm) Width (At bottom): 1”
(2.54cm)

Gauge
4 sts = 1” (2.54cm) and 4 row = 1” (2.54cm)

Abbreviations
st(s) = stitch(es)
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc2tog = double crochet two together (decrease)
dc = double crochet
tc = treble crochet

Dinosaur Horns
With color A (white), make a magic circle or ch 4, sl st into the first ch to
create a circle, ch1.
Round 1: Work 5 sc into the circle, sl st to join, ch1. ( stitches)
Round 2: Sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (5 stitches)
Round 3: 2 sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (6 stitches)
Round 4: 2 sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (7 stitches)
Round 5: 2 sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (8 stitches)
Round 6: 2 sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (9 stitches)
Round 7: 2 sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join. (10 stitches)
Finish by tying and leaving a long tail to sew on to Hound Hoodie.

Dinosaur Frill
With color B, ch 7.
Row 1: Dc in third ch from the hook, dc in each st, ch 1, turn. (5 stitches)
Row 2: Dc2tog in first two sts, dc in next st, dc2tog in last two sts, ch1,
turn. (3 stitches)
Row 3: Sc in first st, dc-tc-dc all in next st, sc in last st. (5 stitches)
Row 4: Connect frill segments by attaching color B yarn to the bottom
corner of first frill segment and sc across each st. Without cutting yarn,
keep attaching frill segments in this way, ch1, turn.
Row 5: Dc in each st across.
Finish by tying and leaving a long tail along the bottom to sew on to
Hound Hoodie while weaving in any short tails on top.
-You can also choose to add a row of sc stitches evenly around the edge
of the frill to define the shape and make it more firm.

Shark Fin and Teeth

Hound Hoodie

This little fin and teeth add onto the Hound


Hoodie pattern that I wrote for all sizes of dogs from XS to
XL! The fin is made by crocheting in the round to make it
thick enough to hold its shape. And the teeth are made
separately so you can add a couple for smaller sizes or add
more for the larger sizes, and are sewn onto the inside of the
hood for a hidden seam. They are easy to make and could be
added on to human hoodies also!

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Materials
 Yarn with a weight of #4
o A- White
 Bulky Yarn with #6 weight
o B- Lion Brand Yarn- Hometown USA Blue or Grey
 Size I/9-5.5mm Crochet Hook
 Tapestry Needle
 Scissors
 Safety pins

Finished Dimensions
Teeth – Length: 1.25” (3.18cm) Width (At bottom): 1” (2.54cm)
Fin - Length: 4” (10.16cm) Width (At bottom): 2.25” (5.72cm)

Gauge
Teeth - 8 sts = 2” (5.08 cm) and 4 row = 1” (2.54 cm)

Fin - 4 sts = 2” (5.08 cm) and 3 rows = 1” (2.54 cm)

Shark Teeth
With color A (white) ch 5.
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 3 sts, ch1. (4 stitches)
Row 2: Sc in first two sts, sc2tog, ch1. (3 stitches)
Row 3: Sc, sc2tog, ch1. (2 stitches)
Row 4: Sc2tog, ch1. (1 stitch)
Row 5: Ss in top of last row
Finish by tying and weave in end on tip of tooth but leave a long tail
at beginning to sew onto the inside edge of the Hound Hoodie.

Shark Fin
With color B (blue or grey), make a magic circle or ch 4, sl st into the first ch to create a circle, ch1.
Round 1: Work 5 sc into the circle, sl st to join, ch1. (5 stitches)
Round 2: Sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (5 stitches)
Round 3: 2sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (6 stitches)
Round 4: 2sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (7 stitches)
Round 5: 2sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (8 stitches)
Round 6: 2sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (9 stitches)
Round 7: 2sc in first st, sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (10 stitches)
Finish by tying and leaving a long tail to sew onto Hound Hoodie.

Frog Eyes
for
Hound Hoodie

These goofy little frog eyeballs add onto the


Hound Hoodie pattern that I wrote for all sizes of
dogs from XS to XL! They are made by creating the
eye ball first and filling it with a little stuffing or
yarn scraps, and then making an eye lid to wrap
around the eye ball. They are easy to make and
could be added on to human hoodies also!

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Materials
 Yarn with a weight of #4
o A- Black
o B- White
 Bulky Yarn with #6 weight
o C- Lion Brand Yarn- Hometown USA Green
 Size I/5.5mm Crochet Hook
 Size N/10.00mm Crochet Hook
 Stuffing
 Tapestry Needle
 Scissors
 Safety pins

Finished Dimensions
1.5 inches (3.81cm)

Gauge
Eyeball - 8 sts = 2” (5.08 cm) and 4 row = 1” (2.54 cm)

Frog Eye Ball
With color A (black) and smaller hook, make a magic circle or ch 4, sl st into the first ch to create a circle, ch1.
Round 1: Work 5 sc into the circle( switch to color B (white) before completing last sc), sl st to join, ch1. (5
stitches)

Round 2: 2 sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (10 stitches)


Round 3: 2 sc in first st, sc in next st, repeat around, sl st to join, ch1. (15 stitches)
Round 4: Sc in each st, sl st to join, ch1. (15 stitches)
Round 5: Sc2tog in first st, sc in next st, sl st to join, ch1. (10 stitches)
Round 6: Sc2tog around, sl st to join. (5 stitches)
Stuff eye ball with stuffing or yarn scraps and sew shut leaving a long tail to sew into the eye lid.

Frog Eye Lid


With color C (green) and larger hook, make a magic circle or ch 4, sl st into the first ch to create a circle, ch1.
Round 1: Work 6 sc into the circle, sl st to join, ch1. (6 stitches)
Round 2: Sc around, sl st to join, ch1. (6 stitches)
Round 3: Sc around, sl st to join. (6 stitches)
Finish by leaving a long tail to sew onto Hound Hoodie.
