Appetizer:
5 = Correct left hand set-up, curved fingers, correct notes, fingers placed on tapes

4 = Correct left hand set-up, fingers and notes, fingers not exactly on finger tapes

3 = Correct set-up, curved fingers, incorrect notes

2 = Incorrect set-up or flat fingers

1 = Unsure of notes and finger placement, poor set-up

0 = Incomplete

Main Dish:
10 = Good bow hold- correct thumb and finger placement, good arm usage and
extension for straight bow, correct placement on the string, good tone for both
up bow and down bow

8-9 = Overall good bow hold and usage, one or two minor problems that are fixed
with prompting

6-7 = Good bow hold, but bow usage is not carefully executed

4-5 = Problems in bow hold, unsure of corrections needed, possible trouble with
bow usage as a result

1-3 = Incorrect bow hold and bow usage

0 = Incomplete

Side Dishes: (each is awarded up to five points)

5 = Correct notes and rhythms, good technique

3-4 = Overall good performance with minor problems in areas of

counting, note reading or technique

1-2 = Sincere attempt with a few bigger problems throughout
