EJ: First we will talk about the first king which is Saul,

Let’s talk about his strengths, He united the scattered tribes, giving them greater
strength. Saul was courageous in battle. He was a generous king. Early in his reign he
was admired and respected by the people.

Next Saul’s weakness is also about, He failed to observe the law of the ban Herem and
spared King Agag of the Amalekites after defeating them. He was impatient and did not
wait for Prophet Samuel to come as had been agreed upon. He assumed priestly
powers and offered sacrifices to God instead of waiting for Prophet Samuel. Saul’s
weaknesses could be impulsive, acting unwisely. His jealousy of David drove him to
madness and a thirst for revenge.

Next is his Accomplishments, Saul succeeded in freeing Israel of its enemies and
extending its boundaries. He fought successfully against the Philistines, Ammonites,
Moabites, Edomites, Arameans, and Amalekites. He also succeeded in drawing the
tribes of Israel into a closer unity.

Next is his Problems encountered, The issue between Saul and Samuel came to a head
in the events described in chapter 15 (a section from the later source). Samuel
requested Saul to avenge the attacks by the Amalekites on the Israelite tribes during
their wanderings in the wilderness after the Exodus from Egypt about 200 years earlier.

Next is his Sin. Firstly the Israelites had rebelled against God's authority by demanding
that they have a king - like the nations around them. God warned them through Samuel
what having a king would be like, but the people insisted. So God let them have their
wish and the consequences, by providing Saul as a king. The job of a Godly king is to
mediate God's authority - much like the role of a priest as an intermediary between God
and man. Saul however himself bowed to the pressures from his subjects and made
decisions himself that might appear very pious, but were really rebelling against what
God had asked him to do. For example, saving some of the animals of the Amalekites
that he had been told to destroy and justifying it on the grounds that they were to
provide a sacrifice. It seems that Saul's heart was not towards serving God but looking
good to the people.

Lastly, is his Repentance, King Saul sinned by giving a sacrifice that only the priest was
allowed to give. Saul even tried to make excuses for his sin, claiming that he just
wanted to offer sacrifices to God. But Samuel told Saul that God cares more about
obedience than about sacrifices.
Lawrence: And for the second presentation of the second king is Solomon,

First of his Strengths, King Solomon greatest strength was his unsurpassed wisdom,
granted to him by God. In one biblical episode, two women came to him with a dispute.
Both lived in the same house and had recently delivered newborns, but one of the
infants had died.

Next is his weaknesses, Solomon worshiped the gods of his wives alongside the God of
Israel thus broke the covenant with God. He imposed heavy taxation on his subjects
and his districts in order to raise part of the government revenue. Solomon overspent
and misused the wealth of the Kingdom by building a huge palace.

Next is his Accomplishments, King Solomon's greatest achievement was building the
Temple in Jerusalem, the center of Israel's religious life.

Next is his Problems encountered, King Solomon wants to sleep with another man's
wife. However, he knows that uncharismatic leaders frequently sleep with other men's
wives, and charismatic leaders almost never do. Furthermore, uncharismatic leaders
are frequently overthrown, and charismatic leaders rarely are.

Next is his Sins, His sins included idolatry, marrying foreign women and, ultimately,
turning away from Yahweh, and that led to the kingdom being torn in two during the
reign of his son Rehoboam. Solomon was said to have sinned by acquiring many
foreign wives. Solomon's descent into idolatry, Willem de Poorter, Rijksmuseum.

Lastly his Repentance, The conventional dates of Solomon's reign are about 970 to 931
BCE, normally given in alignment with the dates of David's reign. His sins included
idolatry, marrying foreign women and, ultimately, turning away from Yahweh, and that
led to the kingdom's being torn in two during the reign of his son Rehoboam. And
Solomon can choose anything - courage, strength, even money or fame. He chooses an
understanding heart. Wisdom, so he can make good decisions for his people. And God
is so pleased with Solomon's choice that He gives him every other good gift, too.

EJ: And the finale about this last presentation of the last king is David,
First of all, what are his Strengths? David was courageous and strong in battle, trusting in
God for protection. He remained loyal to King Saul, despite Saul's crazed pursuit.
Throughout his entire life, David loved God deeply and passionately.

Next is his Weakness, King David committed adultery with Bathsheba. He then tried to
cover up her pregnancy, and when he failed with that, he had her husband Uriah the
Hittite killed. This was perhaps the greatest transgression of David's life.

Next is his Accomplishments, As Israel's second king, David built a small empire. He
conquered Jerusalem, which he made Israel's political and religious center. He defeated the
Philistines so thoroughly that they never seriously threatened the Israelites' security again,
and he annexed the coastal region.

Next is his Problem encountered, David rebelled against God's warning and continued in
his sin, he went on to take the census. Once the census was over he came back to his
senses and was troubled in his heart because he displeased God.

Next is his Sins, According to the Biblical narrative, King David Commits adultery with
Batsheba, leading him to arrange the death of her housebound Uriah the Hittie.

And lastly, his repentance, David's repentance was sincere and deep. There was no effort
to palliate his crime. No desire to escape the judgments threatened, inspired his prayer. But
he saw the enormity of his transgression against God; he saw the defilement of his soul; he
loathed his sin.
