The changes in the working environment defined in the several scenarios involving the

requirement for staffing reductions and the need for restructures that may result in either

convenience or inconvenience. The changes involved in the case study are both intrinsic and

extrinsic. The extrinsic factors include the hygiene measures that focus on the motivation of the

employees at the workplace. These factors usually depend on the context into which work

performed in the workplace, which defines the benefit for the hotel managers and understand the

measures and the practices favorable to the advancement and increase of the employee retention

and satisfaction (Bryson & Edwards, 2018). When the extrinsic factors are favorable, the

approach may result in job satisfaction. The intrinsic factors include the approach of motivators

that entails recognition and achievement. The intrinsic factors result positively in the approach of

job satisfaction.

The diagnosis of the case shows that the cause of the employee turnover was caused

through the factors that did not matter if they were intrinsic or extrinsic. The factors involved the

lack of favorable impact performance and the managerial support of the activities that enhance

the motivation to reduce the turnover. Lack of hygiene measures boosted the cause of the

problem for the employees in the workplace, as they could not concentrate in their respective

workplace to enhance the work performance and concentration in the respective fields of

operations (Fuertes, 2020).

The possible alternative for the Mandarin Oriental revolved around the intrinsic and

extrinsic factors that assured the positivity of the workplace and increased work performance.

The approach entailed the application of motivators such as fans at the workplace and the
hygiene measures that assured the safety and health of the employees. Fan approaches at the

workplace promoted job satisfaction that enhanced a favorable performance.

The action plan from the case study entails subjecting the employees to the facilities that

enhance their equality in all the views including the reward system. The reward system affects all

the employees from the different working departments, and they respond differently to the

measures upheld in the reward system (Brorström, 2016). Therefore, the management should

work towards the satisfaction of the employees because the approach enhances the achievement

of the desired work performance.

The study of the work changes in the environment in the organization enables in the

regulation and maintenance of the employee facilities that includes the measures towards job

satisfaction and the factors that maintain the motivation for the employees. The maintenance of

both intrinsic and extrinsic factors in the organization enhances the advancement of the work

performance.
