Notes
1 This workbook allows the user to manipulate aquifer parameter values to explore
alternative interpretations of aquifer test drawdown responses. Up to 3 drawdown
vs time curves can be accommodated and 5 alternative radial flow solutions are
provided.

2 Specific aquifer parameters can be set by entering them in Column D.

Otherwise they can be manipulated by using the coloured slider bars.

3 Units are metres and days, with flow in m3/d.

4 Alternative solutions are activated by clicking the labelled buttons in Row 10.
The corresponding radius in Row 7 is used to calculate the drawdown.

5 The spreadsheet is protected - data can be entered only into the unshaded cells.

6 The plot is not protected so users can adjust the vertical scale to match the
observed range. The accompanying "For print" worksheet can also freely be
modified and annotated by the user.

7 The Leakance value (L) displayed in Cell R3 reflects the chosen T and K'/B'
values.

8 One approach to using the spreadsheet is to first activate the Theis solution to
determine appropriate T & S values and then, if necessary activate successively
complex solutions to represent the later time drawdown response. Drawdown
observations in multiple wells can be represented by specifying the appropriate
radius in Row 7.
