Penny is a popular woman due to the
fact that she is a lovable bookworm
and helps to educate the younger kids
in town. Despite her not-so-great home life,
she works hard to get along with her mother,
Pam, and does her best to take care of her
home. These are all excellent qualities that
draw many farmers in.

farmers won't be able to get ahold of any of

 her loves until at least halfway through their
first Summer season.

Penny's Eight Hearts Cutscene

For this event, you will need to go to

Cindersap Forest between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Unlike most events, this one will ask you to
make two decisions. Both revolve around
interacting with Jas and Vincent. Next,
you will need to talk about having kids
with Penny.

First prompt:

"I'd love to!" +10 friendship points

No change in friendship
"Sure."
points

"No... I can't -1,500 friendship points (yes,

stand kids." you read that right)
:
 If you agree to talk to the kids, you'll be
prompted a few more times, but none of the

answers affect your friendship with Penny.

Then, she asks if you want to be a
parent:

How To Start Dating Penny

 Once you've reached 8 hearts with Penny,
you'll get a letter from Pierre saying that
he's selling something new in his shop:
a Bouquet! You can buy one from him
and give it to any NPC you have 8
hearts with to ask them to be your
partner. When you gift the Bouquet to
Penny, she'll happily accept! At that point,
you'll unlock the ability to reach 10 hearts of
friendship with her and her status in the
Social menu will change to be your
"Girlfriend."

You will receive a letter in the mail from

Penny. Head to the Spa between 7 p.m. and
midnight to trigger this cutscene There will
be a couple of points in this conversation
when you'll have to respond. None of the
options matter except in the second prompt,
when she says she has feelings for you. If
you choose to say "Sorry, but I don't
like you in that way..." you will lose
1,500 friendship points with Penny,
which is six full hearts.

Once you reach 10 hearts with Penny, you

can get married! You'll know because you'll
get a letter from Mayor Lewis, conveniently
explaining that people in Stardew Valley
propose to one another with a special
necklace: a Mermaid's Pendant. He
doesn't explain how to get it, but that's what
we're here for!

 You can buy a Mermaid's Pendant
from the Old Mariner NPC. He appears
on the beach on rainy days. However,
he's near the tidal pools and you need to
repair the beach bridge to get to him. Once
you reach him, he'll sell you the Mermaid's
Pendant for 5,000g as long as you're at 10
hearts with at least one romanceable NPC
and have upgraded your house at least once.

Present the Mermaid's Pendant to

Penny and she'll gleefully accept your
offer! The wedding is set for three days
after you propose, unless there happens to
be an event in town that day, in which case
your wedding is set back a day. No need to
bring anything to the wedding except
yourself!

After the ceremony, you and Penny

will be transported back to the farm.

Penny adds a special new room to the right-

hand side of the farmhouse and you unlock
the ability to reach 14 hearts of friendship
with your new wife.

heart event that you can experience after
marriage. To get Penny's, reach 14 hearts
with her and then enter the farmhouse
anytime between 3 pm and 7 pm on a day
when Penny is home. She offers to
redecorate your room for you with
handmade decor made to your tastes.
