The term "social issues" refers to a broad variety of conditions and behaviors that are thought to

be indications of social disorganization and need change through some form of social engineering. Social
problems are issues that touch practically all members of society, either directly or indirectly. They are
regarded as either difficulties or debates concerning a people's moral ideals. Politics, pollution, climate
change, and poverty are the four major categories of social concerns.

1. Politics

Refers to the process through which individuals use their power and influence to collaborate in
collective decision making. Politics is most commonly associated with government conduct, although it
has been found in a variety of other group interactions, including academic, corporate, and religious
institutions. Politics is a societal concern since most decisions made by governments and other
organizations do not always benefit the underprivileged in society. As demonstrated in many third-world
nations, powerful leaders are known to utilize politics to serve their personal interests through theft of
public monies, slowing down development processes.

2. Pollution

Pollution is the introduction of toxins into the environment. These contaminants are known to
disrupt the environment by causing disorder, instability, harm, or discomfort. Pollution can be caused by
chemical substances or energy sources such as heat, light, or noise. Pollutants, or pollution elements,
can occur naturally or as a result of alien chemicals or energies. Because of the presence of human
economic activities such as industrial activity and day-to-day activities, pollution is a big social problem
worldwide. Industrial activity is the primary source of pollution, accounting for more than 70% of global
water and land contamination. There is, however, some pollution that is tolerated as standard industrial
activity.
