At this time, those who do not know how to read and can’t understand what they read is a major

problem in our
academic situation because of the COVID-19 that for almost two years the students have been focusing on modules and
the economy has been affected. As Pre Service Teachers we thought that we will prepare a remedial class where we will
teach eight students in Grade 7 Section C so that they can learn in this effective and efficient way. Similar to the
aforementioned problem, Dr. Ramon B. Legaspi, Sr. National High School where the difficulty is because that area is
mountainous and there is no signal on the phones. This is a double burden on the part of a teacher as they adjust to the
changes. The teachers at the time gradually opened the school and admitted the students four days a week and one day
out of the four days a week was for remedial classes for students who can’t read and can’ t understand what he is
reading. That’s why researchers are conducting action research about the problem mentioned. Researchers want a more
valid analysis of what needs to be done to meet the appropriate needs of these students and develop solutions to
address the problem and improve wholesome student learning.
