ASSIGNMENT
DUE DATE: 26TH JUNE 2022 MARKS: 10
Premise:
The moment the Textile industry of Pakistan starts recovering from the lumpy times of the
Covid-19 situation more challenging situations welcomes them. High cost of production,
political instability, devaluation of the Pakistani currency, and unfavorable trade policies
further threatens the Pakistani textile players to remain competitive in the global face.
AHSEN Textiles, a leading name in textile manufacturing, has recently been able to achieve a
colossal order of Denim Products for the first time from Belgium. International reputation,
threats of domestic problems, the pressure of the new client, and intense international
competition raised the concerns of the management for this order even more. The Head of the
Product Planning & Control department of the company debriefed the management about the
sensitivity of the timely completion of this order. He was of the view that the local and
international challenges may hamper their timely manufacturing (which they can’t afford at
any cost). So, drastic measures were inevitable for timely completion of this order, so it was
suggested that longer working hours are required. Management accepts the proposal because
no risk can be taken on this valuable order, but employees express serious concerns about this
because they were having some reservations about this decision of top management. This
immediate and unusual decision raised another challenge for the company management.
SOLUTION :
Type Of Perceptual Bias:
Frame of Reference
Reasons:

1. A frame of reference is a complex set of assumptions and attitudes which we use to filter
perceptions to create meaning. The frame can include
beliefs, schemas, preferences, values, culture and other ways in which we bias our
understanding and judgment.

2. Now according to above scenario there is difference in perception company wants

individual to increase work hours in order to meet the efficiency but employees had a
different mind frame , Thus, they raised serious concerns against the decision.

3. Both the organisation and the individual had a different focus. Organisation focuses to
complete the order timely with the best quality. On contrast employees has their own
choices and concerns.
