Short Reflection. Read the article “Life Before Birth” then answer the following
questions.

1. What are your feelings and reactions about what you read?
Based on what I read, I feel bad with what happened to the baby. The baby was not
able to experience the beauty of life. Though the baby fight for his/her life but still
he/she ended up unto death.

2. Do you agree that, that which is developing in the womb is a mere “blob of tissue”
or “uterine contents” as abortionists claim? Adhere your explanation.

Yes, I do believe that the first few months of developing in the womb is just a clump
of cells or tissue which is not even fully formed yet. It is merely part of the woman
that was once an egg which was fertilized by a sperm. It is just a fetus only with a
potential of becoming a human being. It has no hopes, dreams, it doesn't have
aspirations in life yet.
Analysis
Here are questions for further discussion.
1. Is it more reasonable to believe that the one developing in the mother’s womb is
a human being or is it otherwise?
Yes, because base on the scientific evidence, then, shows that the unborn is a
living individual of the species Homo sapiens, the same kind of being as us, only
at an earlier stage of development. Each of us was once a zygote, embryo, and
fetus, just as we were once infants, toddlers, and adolescents.
2. What are proofs that which is developing in the mother’s womb is a living human
being?
The unborn has a DNA and body distinct from her mother and father. She
develops her own arms, legs, brain, nervous system, heart, and so forth.

3. Has any realization from today’s discussion changed your stand on abortion?
Explain your answer.

Yes, it has changed my opinion of abortion. For example, if a girl becomes

pregnant at a young age and decides to abort the baby, I understand her point of
view because she is young and unfit to have a child, but she preferred it, and it is
their responsibility to raise the child. It is so wrong for the baby to die as a result of
abortion.
 Application
Persuasive Letter. Pretend that you are 4 months old in the womb of your mother who
is contemplating to abort you. Write her a letter, in not more than 500 words,
convincing her that you are a human being developing contrary to what she and
other pro-abortionists are thinking. Describe to her the development that has
already taken place in 4 months by reflecting what you learned on pre-natal
development in this lesson. Follow the basic parts of a letter in writing your own.

Hi Mom! How are you? I’m your 4-month-old baby. You know what abortion isn't
an easy decision, in some point of your life you will somehow regret. I am not just a toy
that when you don't want it, you'll just simply throw it away, I am human just like you. If
having a child stresses, you out well then think of other decisions, like give birth to me and
if you still don't change your mind just let someone adopt me. Although adoption is also a
hard decision. But I will be the happiest child ever if you change your mind and just see
how having a child makes you a happy parent ever living. I know it's been hard and tough
sometimes Mom but please don't give up on me. I may look like little or an avocado but
I'm 5 inches long and weigh 5 ounces. Please get enough rest and sleep and don't forget to
eat healthy foods so we'll both be healthy and strong. I'd like you to know that my eyes,
ears, eyebrows and eyelashes are developing and I hope that I would look like you Mom.
I might be silent and sucking my own thumb but I can hear you from inside the womb.
Why Mom? what happened, why are you trying to get rid of me? am I not loved? I'm here
Mom, I'm alive! and I have the right to live, please don't take this away from me. I have a
life and dreams just like you do. Let's do this together mom, we can make it. After birth I
promise to be cute and adorable enough for you not to forsake me. I promise not to cry too
much so you won't get upset too often. I promise to be forever by your side. If you are
afraid of all responsibilities as a mother. If you are afraid that you can't give me a good life,
I beg you to stop planning abortion. I can accept what kind of life you just can give to me.
Just give me a chance to see the world. Just give me a chance to see your face and smile.
Just give a chance to feel love and be loved. Abortion is not a way to escape in a battle.
You need me and I can help you fight every challenge that you'll encountered. God gave
me to you, and you must accept me. I am now 4 months old on your womb. You can feel
me by moving my arms and legs for the first time. Most importantly, my eyes and ears
have been developing so that I can now hear you inside. Many parents wish to have a child.
Please continuing give birth to me. I am your daughter. I'm from your body and soul. I will
be your angelic daughter someday, so please me mother let me show you that I can make
your life wonderful.
