Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ to one and all.

Today I am going to narrate the story entitled Peter in jail.

It was the time, the King Herod began to arrest and persecute some members of the church.  He had
James, the brother of John and put to death by the sword. When Herod saw that this incident had made
the Jews happy, he arrested Peter and put him in jail. Peter was handed over to be guarded by four
groups of four soldiers each. Herod plan was to put peter on trial in public after the Passover.

When the people of the church heard what had happened to Peter, they gathered in small groups in
houses across the city and began to pray.

That night, Peter was sleeping between two guards. He was tied with two chains, and also there were
guards at the prison gate.

Suddenly an angel appeared, and woke him up, and said, “Get up quickly!”. Then At once the chains fell
off Peter’s hands. Then the angel said, “Now get dressed! Put on your sandals and coat and Follow
me!”.”  Peter followed the angel out of the prison

Peter was not knowing whether the angel was real; he thought he was seeing a vision.  They passed by
the first guard station and then the second, and came to the iron gate that opens into the city. The gate
opened for them by itself. As they walked down the street suddenly the angel disappeared. When Peter
looked around, he realized that what happened was not a dream, the Lord had sent his angel to rescue
him from Herod's power.

Aware of his situations, he quickly went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark.at Mary’s home
many people had gathered and were praying for him.  Peter knocked at the door and a Girl servant
named Rhoda came to answer. She recognized Peter's voice and was so happy that she ran back in
without opening the door. She announced the gathering that Peter was standing outside. But they could
not believe, they said “You’re out of your mind! “Peters in prison. But she kept insisting that it was peter.
Then they said, “It’s his angel.”

Meanwhile Peter kept on knocking. At last, they opened the door, and when they saw him, they were
amazed. He motioned to them with his hand to be quiet, and then he told them how the Lord had
brought him out of the prison. He said to them, “Tell this to James and the brothers.” Then he left for
another place. The next morning, there was a tremendous confusion among the guards—what had
happened to Peter?  Herod gave orders to search for , but they could not find him. So the guards were put
to death.

My dear believers, From this story we understand that when peter was in trouble, all the people of the
church gathered together and prayed for his deliverance. Like that, we should also gather and pray
together earnestly for those who are in trouble, in sufferings and in needs. When we unify in prayers,
Miracles will happen.

Mary and the others could see that Rhoda meant what she said, but they still didn't
