Millennials and the teachings of Islam

“innal hamda lillaah nahmaduhu wa nasta’iinuhu wa na’uudzu billahi min suruuri anfusinaa
wa min sayyiaati a’maalinaa man yahdihillaahu falaa mudhilla lah, wa man yudhlilhu falaa
haadiya lah. Asyhadu allaa ilaaha illallah, wa asyhadu anna muhammadan ‘abduhuu wa
rosuuluh.”

My dear sisters.
Introducing my name azka zhillan zhalila, this time I will present a speech that will be useful
for all of you.
Before that, Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah SWT for gathering us here in good health and
faith in Islam. Peace and blessings be upon our great prophet Muhammad, peace be upon
him.
My sisters, our current generation or what is called the millennial generation is a generation
where we are rich in knowledge of technological developments. But unfortunately we lack
knowledge in the field of our own religion.
Do you know if the things we do everyday can be prohibited in our religion? Many of us may
not know. Many of us do things that are forbidden by our religion such as fornication,
uncovering, saying bad words, wasting time with useless things, etc.
Then are those deeds taken seriously by today's millennials? No, they think that their "mere"
deeds are enough to take them to heaven and protect them from the heat of hell.
We also often think that the sin of our actions is not much. then we do it over and over again.
even though we know it's actually a bad deed?. We also imitate people who do good but
expect rewards from humans or are not sincere, if not so we easily give up in the halfway
trough. Such actions indicate that we lack insight into our religion which makes our faith
even less. Then what can we do to fix this?
We millennials are equipped with technological sophistication, so we should be able to utilize
it properly such as by using it to read the al quran, or looking for knowledge of Islamic
studies, or if it is even better we can turn off our gadgets and go to the assembly of
knowledge to learn our religious knowledge. Do not forget if these actions are based on
istiqomah and sincerity because allah ta'ala.
do not give up in the halfway trough, remain steadfast, and always pray to be blessed by
allah swt.
Alhamdullilah we are already at the end of the speech I delivered, I hope my sisters can
accept the message contained in my speech, and may allah make us a better figure in the
future. I apologize if there are mistakes made, because actually the mistakes come from
humans and only Allah is perfect. I end my speech today thank you for listening, I close by
