Reflective Summery on LDM 2

As I went through the different output of my co-teachers, I found out that they need
technical assistance to adapt to the new normal and as to what new strategies in teaching
should ne use in this kind of teaching modalities. We must be well equipped and must have
the technical know-how with r e g a r d s t o L D M p l a t f o r m s t o e n s u r e q u a l i t y
learning outcomes and make n e c e s s a r y a n d m e a n i n g f u l a d j u s t m e n t s . W e
n e e d t o w o r k t o g e t h e r t o continuously improve with content and pedagogical
knowledge, practice, skills and attitudes. LDM2 LAC sessions must be institutionalized
because this is the avenue of all t e a c h e r s t o i m p r o v e w i t h r e g a r d s t o t h e
a d a p t a t i o n a n d e m b r a c i n g t h e challenges of the New Normal. Teachers must
embrace these changes for the benefit of the learners.
The module as a whole has enabled me to look further into specific areas which are of interest to
me & those I did not have high confidence in delivering within the classroom. In reflection, the
modules also outs limits to what student have to learn. The thought that I am not physical present
when they start to journey with new topics made me worried a bit. Constant communication
through chats, text or call greatly help. Working with others on this new normal learning
modality has helped make the tasks more enjoyable experience. The motivation &
encouragement provided by colleagues was invaluable. I feel I have learnt a lot from them as
professionals, sharing ideas and thoughts about many different issues – seeing different
perspectives and encouraging me to develop my own thinking. I have to admit that completing
this portfolio has been quite a challenge and I have taken a lot of time & effort to (hopefully)
make it the best it could be! I do feel a sense of pride & achievement after completing this
module & portfolio as I believe I have taken myself out of my comfort zone many a times to
complete tasks in lectures and also in this portfolio, for example making videos. This is
something I still don’t feel completely comfortable with but you’ve got to give something a go at
least once! The digital skills that have been developed, from creating the blog to editing videos
& uploading files are also going to assist me in my future career & professional development.
