Instruction: Provide answer to the incomplete sentences. After reading and discussing with my
classmates, this lesson on fundamentals of curriculum designing or crafting a curriculum,

1. I realize that curriculum designing, indeed, is a very important task a teacher should be an
expert of. As a curriculum designer, implementer, and evaluator, a teacher should be aware of
the principles in curriculum designing, some of which is that of Peter Olivia's Axioms which
serve as a guide for teachers in designing curriculum. I've also realize that a curriculum
design/lesson plan has important components namely, the Learning Objectives/Intended
Outcomes, The Content/Subject Matter, their respective references, Teaching
Methods/Strategies, and Evaluation. Each of these components needs to be given much
emphasis by teachers to come up with a good curriculum design.

2. I feel that as a teacher-to-be, it is my prerogative to design a good curriculum that contains

systematic step guide of students' authentic learning experiences. I feel that being able to
construct a well-designed lesson plan is my main goal as a teacher-to-be. Being knowledgeable
and skillful in crafting a curriculum is one of what I want to achieve for my future profession. I
also feel that education students should seriously learn the fundamentals of curriculum
designing as it is considered as the heart of teaching-learning processes. In this time where
learning is self-paced, students, especially education students, have to really make an effort in
understanding their lessons such as fundamentals of curriculum designing or crafting a
curriculum.

3. I need to apply my acquired knowledge and skills on the fundamentals of curriculum

designing as a pre-service up until I become an in-service teacher. I need to have myself get
equipped more with great deal of knowledge and sets of 21st century skills in crafting a
curriculum design by reading some other books and YouTube videos regarding curriculum
designing. As stated by Peter Olivia, I also need to embrace changes in the designing/crafting of
curriculum, especially in these unprecedented times where the teaching and learning process is
being held online. Thus, changes in the designing of curriculum might be done to cope up with
the loss due to pandemic.
