fight with him alongside his own army in Mycenae made this event as tragic as it is expected to
be.
5. How is King Agamemnon characterized in this movie? Who provides the maximum possible
contrast to him?
-King Agamemnon is the King of Kings in the show, and his superiority makes him the most
feared King in the history of Greece. However, Achilles opposes his actions for taking away the
prize of honor that has been allocated to Achilles.
6. How is Achilles characterized in this movie? What is the driving force behind his actions?
-Achilles, the Greatest warrior who fights for the Greek Army is represented as a gifted killer,
born to end lives in order to make him the most fearful warrior rivaled against the Troy army.
Glory and honor is what strives him to become more initiative and he will do everything in his
power to make his name remain unto the end.
7. What roles are there for women (Helen, Andromache, & Briseis) in this movie? What is the
motivation for their actions?
-Helen, who loved Prince Paris and remained with him even though he has to face serious
consequences afterwards. Andromache, the wife of Prince Hector is a great woman who
supports his husband at all cost during the Trojan war. Briseis, the only girl who gave Achilles
the peace he wanted during the war. Their roles make their partners to feel comfortable with
them and give them the only peace existing in the middle of war. It is purely for inspiration to
support our loved ones to fight their own battles in life.
8. What role do Greeks gods and goddesses have in this film?
-Their role is to bring chaos to each army but at the same time help each other accordingly, but
favors the one who has the upper hand against the losing army. They also glorify the deserving
man, whether it appears to be a King or a Mighty Warrior.
9. How does the character of Achilles change from the beginning of the story to the end? In
which key scenes do we see evidence of this change?
-His actions starts to change when Briseis appeared in his life, and this is a miracle brought to
Achilles’ to not only focus on war but for his happiness at the same time. Briseis brought peace
to Achilles in the middle of war, and it proves that Briseis has become his weakness. This has
been shown by the time when Achilles protected her when King Agamemnon ordered his people
to take her away
10. Agamemnon and Achilles both want honor, but not the same kind of honor. How can we
characterize the differences in what they want?
-King Agamemnon seeks the kind of honor where he wanted his name to remain and be
recognized by the people as a great King who build the future of Greece. While Achilles seeks
the kind of honor where everyone will praise him and acknowledge him as the strongest Warrior
who ever lived in the time of the Trojan war.
11. How do the stories of Hector and Achilles reflect the concept of Greek tragedy?
-Hector’s life lived by a code where he should honor the Gods, love his wife, and defend his
country. This makes him unstoppable towards the Greek army except one man who can beat
him with ease. Achilles is a man who fights for his own honor and glory, but no one benefits for
his own accomplishments except he himself.
12. Who do you think are the good guys? The bad guys?
-The good guys shown in the movie is the Trojan army and its King who only seeks peace with
Troy to avoid making trouble against the King of Kings in Sparta, except for one man who
named ‘Paris’, he is the very root of war because of his actions and selfishness that led Troy fall
to get his prize. The bad guys were the Greek army, but the war wouldn’t have occurred if it
weren’t for the Kings who usually make orders in order to make their men move.
