THE AQUINO ANSCESTRAL HOUSE

The Aquino Ancestral House was built sometime in the mid-1930s and it was
completed in 1938. The old house is already 91 years old but its garden is still
abundant of plants and trees. It is located near the parish church, the town plaza
and the municipal hall of Concepcion in the Province of Tarlac. It is where the
Philippine modern national hero, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino spent his childhood
days. He was loved by many in the house and neighborhood for he had a strong
urge to express himself spontaneously and creatively.

THE BIRTH AND GROWTH OF SAN JOSE
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

In the year 1964, there was an abandoned place in Barangay San Jose thickly
covered with tall grasses. It was popularly known as the the Gueco’s Subdivision
owned by the Gueco family. The barangay captain, Mr. Eloy Q. Perez, realized that
the barangay was so big with huge population so there should be a school to
provide education for the children. He diligently went through a lot of effort to be
able to realize his plan of building a school. Until, one day, Mr. Jose Gueco
voluntarily donated two blocks from his lot. It was where the initial rooms of the
dream school and the barangay hall were partially built.
Now, with the combined efforts of the different school heads who were
assigned in this school, San Jose Elem School is now a complete elementary school.
Structurally, physically and academically, it has now expanded to an edifying
institution. It is one of the performing schools of Concepcion North District,
presently headed by the school head Sir Sir Arnold Philip D. Gutierrez, with
nineteen hardworking teachers.

WALTER MART

The ever first mall built in the town of Concepcion is the “Walter Mart.”
Many people visit here everyday for many reasons. Mothers’ favorite place is the
grocery section where they can buy variety of foods and household stuffs. Children
and teenagers love to play in the “World of Fun.” They spare part of their “baon”
to buy tokens. Fathers’ section is the “Ace Hardware” located at the opposite side
of “Watson’s Drug Store.” The department store is the ladies most loved place. It
is complete with all types of clothes and girly things. Also, people won’t get hungry
even if they flock in Walter Mart for a long time. Snacks, breakfast, lunch and
dinner are served in Mang Inasal, Chowking, Giligans and several food stalls.
