Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) moving from IT to Enterprise Transformation Department. Hermione Granger, Ron
Weazley, Arya Stark need to be brought on board to become at least neutral.
Stakeholder Relationships
Arya Stark supervises Ron Weazley and Hermione Granger. Bringing her to a supportive engagement level is paramount.
Stakeholder Approach
Arya Stark Present project business justification, objectives, schedule, risks and issues. Focus on value of project
as “quick win” for establishing value of new EPMO to organization.
Ron Weazley Involve him in presentation to Arya Stark. Make sure he understands that Arya wants this “quick win.”
This should at least move him to neutral, if not supportive.
Hermione Granger Involve her in presentation to Arya Stark. Provide details on why this project is more important than
other projects in which she is involved and how she can help deliver success. Add details on how
resources can be freed up quickly with her support so they can move her to other projects.
Arthur Dent Meet with Arthur separately to share how resources he controls can get a quick win and then move on
to other projects, rather than having to deal with multiple competing priorities.
John Watson Meet with John separately to discuss how prioritizing this project over others will protect his
mainframe environments and his resources from being spread thin and perhaps causing wasteful
swapping back and forth (with attendant risk of data corruption while backing up or restoring test
environments).
John Wick John already supports the project, but proactive leadership in IT will be needed as EPMO moves under
business. Guide him through how his continued (and improved) support can help improve the
relationship with the business, with the EPMO as a bridge.
Sarah Connor Sarah is the sponsor of the project and already leading. Maintain commitments related to
communications and decision making. Schedule some additional time with her to make sure that the
EPMO transition does not negatively impact her continued ability to lead the project.
