PROPOSAL
CONCEPT

Those Eyes by New West is about the beginning of a new relationship between 2
people in the middle of what is called the ‘honeymoon’ phase.

For my own music video, I will take this idea but adapt it to a long relationship where
2 people have been together for a long time but eventually fall out of love. I will
show the parallel sides of both people and how this affects them.

The guy in this situation will be missing his other half as the girl would have moved
on with someone else. There will be different emotions throughout this production.

It will include old memories of when the couple were together and the main object to
connect their relationship is a picture frame of them. Once it smashes, the
relationship does too. When it was put up on the wall brand new, their relationship
was just starting.

WHY ARE YOU PRODUCING THIS PRODUCTION?

I am producing this production for entertainment purposes and relatable

heartbreak/ young love. It will be showing how both people in the relationship
deal with the struggles and how they both feel using the parallel sides. I want
to entertain people and also educate them on how other people feel in a
relationship. There are always 2 sides to a story.
As the music video goes on, I will include clips out of sync so it fits within the
non-linear narrative. This will make the audience focus more on the storyline
rather than the song behind it.

DEADLINES

Planning deadline – 25th November 2022

Final deadline – 16th December 2022
TARGET AUDIENCE

My target audience is 18+ Niche because the song I am using isn’t heard of a
lot and my storyline will only be relatable for young adults and people who
have experienced these types of relationships. The suited audience will fit
within a young teenage/adult love and the problems/situations that happen
between them. I will make my production appeal to my target audience by
using actors aged 18 so the intended audience can relate to the situations that
will occur in the production. Hopefully they will relate or see themselves as
the characters they are portraying.

WHAT MY AUDIENCE WANTS TO SEE IN MY PRODUCTION

I did surveys and focus groups to gather information on what my target audience
wants to see in my production. In the focus group, I asked 4 people who are 18 to
help me develop my idea.
They want to see more realistic aspects and scenes that will fit within the 18+
niche well.
They want to see a simple narrative so it is easier to understand and they won’t
have to focus into the storyline that much.

Using creative editing will keep the audience interested and the way it is
produced in a way that is easy to relate to. I should match the shots to the beat
of the music to make the production look cool and in detail.

WHAT ARE YOU CREATING BASED ON THE RESEARCH

Based on my target audience research, I will be creating a non-linear narrative because I

will be able to tell a longer and more complex story. My survey response said that it
would be cool to see the difference between the couple being broken up versus when
they were together and in love.
Using a non-linear narrative will
make my music video seem more
interesting and more thought out.
WHERE THE PRODUCTION WILL BE AIRED?

I will air my production onto YouTube because this is the best way to reach my target
audience. On my survey, I asked my target audience what platforms they will normally
watch music videos on. 75% of them said they would watch music videos on YouTube
which backs up my plan more as the suited audience would have access to YouTube. A
few people said Instagram and TikTok so I can use these platforms as a backup option if
my production gets taken down due to copyright. I can use other social platforms to
promote my music video by using a small clip of the music video as a teaser for more of
my target audience to see it.
