As can be seen in table 1 the same Pietrain sire line was used to produce all
the slaughter pigs tested in the trial. For the matter of DanBred that meant
P x L x LW crossbred pigs. 104 animals (half females and half barrows) from
each company were housed individually during the experimental period.
The test period included the period from approximately 30 - 121 kg

Economic value
The calculated economic value of using the various breeds, based on the
animal performance including both sows and grower finishers show that
DanBred is overall superior compared with the other breeds. Looking at the
aggregated economical value DanBred is 8.33 EUR/pig better than the aver-
age eco-nomical contribution.
